MATAROA AWARDS 2022

The Cultural Society of Entrepreneurs of Northern Greece and the 6th Art-Thessaloniki International Contemporary Art Fair (November 03-06, 2022), for the third time, organized the MATAROA Exhibition and Awards for young artists, up to 33 years old.

Aiming to promote and showcase young artists as part of the country’s cultural frontline, the two co-organizers hosted a contest, set up a thematic exhibition and bestowed a series of awards to every artist who stranded out.

The Jury and the audience, through onsite and online voting, designated the most prominent nominee out of the 10 selected portfolios, Dimitris Kapetanou, who received the prize of 1,500 Euros. The thematic issue of MATAROA will host a special tribute to Dimitris Kapetanou, both in its following printed edition (ISSUE 03) and on its website (www.mataroa.gr). Theano Giannezi and Sophia Pechlivanidou received honorary distinctions, as well as 700 Euros cash prize each.

The 10 nominated artists were featured on the websites of both Art Thessaloniki International Contemporary Art Fair (www.art-thessaloniki.gr | www.artforum.gr) and the Cultural Society of Entrepreneurs of Northern Greece (www.peebe.gr | www.culturalsociety.gr).
