The successful claim of the organization for Thessaloniki highlights a key issue of education in the modern era.
After 17 different European destinations in the past three decades*, Thessaloniki will be the next city to host the European Council for High Ability (ECHA) Conference.
The 19th International Conference ECHA2024 is co-organized by the Center for Talented Youth (CTY) Greece of Anatolia College and the European Council of ECHA. It is a large-scale event, a conference that will last four days, with 15 parallel rooms that will host a total of 300 meetings and 500 participants from 30 countries worldwide.
The European Council for High Ability (ECHA) is a European Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that aims to promote research, development, and education in the field of high abilities, to contribute to the optimal development and well-being of children, adolescents, and adults with these characteristics. Representing more than 2,000 members in more than 60 countries worldwide, ECHA is the largest scientific society in the field in Europe and one of the largest internationally.
The aim of the conference is to act as a communication network to promote the exchange of information between people involved in or connected with the subject of high abilities – educators, researchers, psychologists, parents, and the high abilities themselves.
Top guest speakers will present the latest developments through talks and workshops, which will give participants the opportunity to delve deeper into each topic. In addition, symposia, sessions, and roundtable discussions will be organized in various thematic areas with the aim of promoting theory and research in the field, connecting the scientific community with the fields of application, formulating implementation proposals, and strengthening international collaborations.
In addition to a unique opportunity for Thessaloniki to host a particularly interesting international event, ECHA2024 will also be an important opportunity for Greek teachers, researchers, executives, and education scientists, psychologists as well as people with exceptional academic abilities, to meet the corresponding international community and to be informed about research and educational practices around the world.
