Among Matoula’s first professional steps was her collaboration with SYMVOLI back in 2008. After a diverse and creative circle of 17 years, being professionally active both internationally and locally, Matoula is back in her hometown and decided to return to
SYMVOLI for her love and expertise: cultural and events management.
With a background in Balkan, Slavic Oriental Studies, and a Master’s degree in Culture Industry at the Goldsmith University of London, Matoula’s professional journey includes roles such as Head of Production at WOMEX (World Music Expo) for 5 years based in Berlin, Coordinator of Music Productions at Documenta14 in Athens, General Coordinator at SKG
Bridges Festival, Cultural Project Manager at Goethe Institut Athens, and many more. Matching her global perspective in event management, her experience in complex and challenging projects, with SYMVOLI’s profile, Matoula’s professionalism and creativity blend again into SYMVOLI mixture for a dynamic return.
She could never imagine that the most demanding project in her life would be motherhood. At the moment she is just dreaming of some free time for activities she loves. However, she is hopping that soon she will be able to enjoy again international traveling and carefree summer breaks, drinking caipirinhas with her friends by the beach.
