The last two years SYMVOLI is taking significant steps into expansion abroad, establishing international collaborations and acquiring European partners.
Throughout the years of the company’s operation, there was always a tendency for extroversion, as the interaction with multi-cultural audiences was constant. Conferences with international impact were attracting people from around the globe in various locations across Greece. In the framework or our partnerships with European associations and organizations for the events they organized in Greece, we were asked to continue to organize their events anywhere in Europe.
In 2018 SYMVOLI travels to Berlin, a journey we took for the 7th Conference of Qualitative Research on Mental Health (QRMH7). After organizing the previous two events in Chania, Crete (2016 & 2014), the destination of Berlin was a great start for what seems to be the new era of things in the company.
Following the success of this out of the borders project, the next one was already on track. Following in the unmatched and unexpected success of the 9th Conference of the European Family Therapy Association in Athens (2016), the next 10th edition (EFTA2019), a project between Greece and Italy that took place in Naples, became our next challenging experience. Three languages, hundreds of paper submissions, four days of inspiring lectures and vibrant workshops, more than 25 parallel sessions, and 1600 participants from all over the world. Months before, the collection of the material and the continuous communication with authors, participants, vendors and Italian partners, contributed into considering this organization one of the most important junctions in the company’s continuum.
Those experiences boosted SYMVOLI’s vision. The company is already in the process of planning the 8th Conference of Qualitative Research on Mental Health (QRMH8) in Malta. The conference will take place in Valletta during 17-19 September 2020. A partnership that seems to be repeated over time. After all, this is one of the strongest features of the company. Steady working relationships and kind personal ones.
Of course, the journey doesn’t stop here. More collaborations with international projects are yet to come. In the news section of SYMVOLI’s website we will discover together the Europe’s and why not, world’s conference map.
UPDATE2021
QRMH8 & QRMH9
The 8th Qualitative Research in Mental Health Conference (QRMH8) took place online on September 9-11, 2021, due to the coronavirus outburst which started in 2020. SYMVOLI’s online platform emphasized in the networking among participants and one-to-one or group communication, with features like profile building and matchmaking. As a result, it was a very successful conference that showed how eager the participants were to meet with each other and exchange once again academic knowledge, opinions and generally revive the social interaction. The conference was jointly chaired by Angela Abela, University of Malta and Maria Borcsa, University of Applied Sciences Nordhausen in cooperation with national and international colleagues.
