The World Congress of Existential Therapy, after London (2015) and Buenos Aires (2019), landed from the 3rd to the 6th of May 2023 in the vibrant Athenian context, embedded in the deep historical roots that gave birth to our Western civilization.

With a participation record of more than 600 people from 48 countries from all over the globe, the 3rd World Congress of Existential Therapy centered around the here and now while embracing our roots and building a vision towards the future. Co-organized with ‘Γίγνεσθαι’, the Hellenic Association for Existential Psychology, the congress offered an opportunity to address the words of Heraclitus “Everything flows and nothing remains”, reminding us that “nobody bathes twice in the same river”, and explaining not only that the water in the river flows, but that people also change from one moment to another.

More than 25 leading experts gave inspiration by diving deep into topics related to life itself and our existence: workshops, presentations, round tables, and prominent invited speakers shed light on the emerging issues that are surrounding existential therapy. As the keynote speaker, Ernesto Spinelli mentioned, it is essential to carry out conferences of this magnitude for the evolution of the practice of psychotherapy but also science itself.
