SANI FESTIVAL is making a pause
SANI FESTIVAL may have pressed the “mute button” for this year, but its “decibels” are expected to go up high again in 2021!
After eight consequent summers during which SYMVOLI having undertaken the production and coordination of SANI FESTIVAL (since 2013), we have paused our festive mood for 2020 and started working for next year’s edition. Unfortunately, the ongoing coronavirus crisis did not leave untouched one of the most important jazz festivals in Europe, and certainly the most well-known in Greece.
The SYMVOLI team will surely miss the unique vibe and passion of organizing SANI FESTIVAL this summer, but we hold on to unforgettable memories and focus on next year to creatively design bridges of music & art that will bring us back close together @ Sani Hill
SANI FESTIVAL, after all, is about our summer weekends, unique experiences, inspiration, strong emotions, life-long relationships…is about socially connecting (vs social distancing) through culture, it is all about passion for music.
Maintaining our creative energy until next year
The vibe of contributing to something so creative, yet in the same time challenging, is unique. Artists, technicians, staff, people from all over the word, musicians of all ethnicities giving 100% of themselves to this celebration of music. And music becomes an international language which brings people together.
China Moses, Cassandra Wilson, Madeleine Peyroux, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Lizz Wright, Salif Keita, Terence Blanchard, Kurt Elling, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Charles Lloyd, Joshua Redman, Myriam Alter, Terri Lyne Carrington, Sasha Pepelyaev, Hugh Coltman, Eric Harland, Dave Holland, Chris Potter, Lionel Loueke, Joss Stone, Yaron Herman, Michael Wollny, Hiromi, Daniel Hope, Till Brönner, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Angelique Kidjo, Christian Sands, Joachim Horsley, Gunhild Carling
Dionysis Savvopoulos, Alkistis Protopsalti, Eleftheria Arvanitaki, Dimitris Maramis, Natassa Bofiliou, Dimitra Galani, Stavros Xarhakos, Manolis Mitsias, Eleni Vitali, Katerina Polemi, Elli Paspala, Vassilikos, Nikos Portokaloglou, Savvina Giannatou
Only a few of the artists we have worked with and for at SANI FESTIVAL all these years.
The first note of an instrument traveling through the wires to the speakers, is a tickle of satisfaction that we contributed into something great. This passion that we have been devoting to SANI FESTIVAL for more than 8 years, will keep us in anticipation for 2021, when we will meet again on Sani Hill.
*and we will meet again in spirit even with the one missed already so much, our dear collaborator and friend Olga, SANI FESTIVAL’s Artistic Director. She will always be there -on Sani Hill- with us…
